HYROX at the Grand Palais: Where Physical Performance Meets the Art of Fine Dining

A few months ago, the Grand Palais Éphémère was transformed into a veritable arena of modern fitness for the HYROX event, an international competition that is shaking up the world of indoor sports. I had the pleasure of covering this unique event through an immersive video, produced in partnership with Starving Club, which handled all food and beverage operations over the four-day event.

What is HYROX?

HYROX is a hybrid format that combines running with functional exercises (CrossFit, sled pushes, wall balls, etc.) in a timed circuit suitable for both seasoned athletes and beginners. A concept that originated in Germany and is now established in major cities around the world, it appeals to a new generation of athletes seeking to push their limits, achieve measurable performance, and participate in events with a strong visual identity.

It’s not just a competition. It’s a physical spectacle, a collective experience, and above all, a media event —which made it the perfect setting for an ambitious video production.

Why cover an event?

Because it was a pivotal moment for the HYROX brand in France: an iconic venue (the Grand Palais), record attendance, and, above all, an event with fascinatingly complex logistics. Capturing this event meant documenting the rise of a sports and lifestyle culture that is gaining influence, and showcasing the rarely seen behind-the-scenes aspects of this type of production.

My approach to video

The idea was clear: to show what the audience doesn’t see. The technical setups, the food and logistics teams working behind the scenes, the energy required to feed thousands of participants and spectators over several days. All of this was presented through a dynamic narrative, punctuated by the competition’s highlights and enriched by key interviews, notably with Thibault, the founder of Starvin Club, who also participated in the race—literally embodying the link between sports and nutrition.

This video highlights:

  • The synergy between sports and urban cuisine

  • The importance of event logistics in the success of a project of this scale

  • Starvin Club's vision: to provide athletes with high-quality nutrition, without compromising on quality or timing

HYROX isn’t just about sports. It’s a growing culture, a breeding ground for innovation for brands, and an exciting arena for visual creativity for us videographers. Working on this project with Starvin Club was a real creative and technical thrill—a way to bring together my passions: sports, visual storytelling, and urban gastronomy.

Bonus: Behind-the-scenes look

I’ll also be sharing some behind-the-scenes photos here—snapshots of the planning, preparation, and tension… but also moments of joy and accomplishment. Because at an event like this, every detail matters, and every face tells a part of the story.
